JOHN'S WILL

It's done! Thanks to the perseverance of Fran McKay, we have completed the 'translation' of the will of John Skinner of Debden. You'll recall that I found an LDS listing for a birth of a Thomas Skinner 6 April 1618, son of a John Skinner of Debden, Essex, England.

In an attempt to find father John Skinner, we located a will for a John Skinner, no connection yet. A fearless team of Skinner researchers - Sande Skinner, Chicago, IL; Genevieve Copley, Tucson, AZ; Pat Nurre, Hardin, MT; and I set out to decipher the script which had been written over 350 years ago.

Most of us got past the first page - large script, but the other 4 pages were a dickens to read. Armed with what we already had, Fran McKay (Comstock Park, MI) jumped in and pulled us all through to completion.
This John did have a son Thomas, as well as a son John, 2 daughters Ann and Jane, and wife Elinor. Armed with this info, we're now In the process of searching English records for any other information.
