Note by Holcombe:
John Crider was hauling provisions for the Irish at Chapel Hill. On
Malta Hill (a very steep hill with a wide reputation) he stopped to adjust
a barrel of salt (some say whiskey) and it rolled off on hin. His brother
Leuwen [sp?] (a lawyer) came to Ohio to investigate his death (John's) he
believed foul play.
#14 James - It is family legend that he went to Civil War and never
returned or was heard from again. It is not known who he married or if
he had children.
