Declaration
In order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress of the 7th of June,
1832.
State of New Hampshire,
County of Cheshire.
On this Eighth day of August 1832 personally appeared in open Court
before the Hon. Aaron Matson Judge of probate for said County of
Cheshire.
now sitting, Timothy Skinner a resident of Westmoreland in the county
of Cheshire and State of New Hampshire aged 71 years last February
who, being first duly sworn, according to law, doth on his oath make the
following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the act of
Congress, passed June 7th, 1832.
That he entererd the service of the United States under the following
named officers, and served as herein stated. In June 1777 enlisted for 6
months in the Massachusetts Line Capt Silas Cobbs Comp. Col. Wades
Regt Gen Spencers expedition near R. Island marched about 1st of July to
ferry at Swansea west side of Taunton river stayed a few days -
marched to Taunton and vicintiy where we trained untill the plan of
going on to the Island was given up when we marched Pawtuxet Is. to a
village called Updike where we stayed till Div. return to Providence
where we remained till the 1st of Jan. was discharged there - In the
beginning of May 1778 enlisted as a private for one year Capt
Richardsons Co. Col. Jacobs Regt. Gen Sullivan's Expedition to hold my
self in readiness when called for marched about the first of June
marched toward R. Island joined my Brg at Rhehoboth marched to
Tiverton - crossed the river into the Island. Capt Richardson returned
home and his Company were put under the command of Capt Cole marched
to Swansea where we were discharged at the end of the year - In 1779
enlisted for ninety days under Capt Hodges marched to Providence where
we stayed till the term expired was discharged there, think under Col
Tyler's Regt. I was born in Mansfield, Mass. Feb 10, 1761. I have a
record in my Bible at home taken from the town Record at Mansfield. I
lived in Mansfield Mass. when I went into the service and after the War
till 1787 when I moved to Westmoreland where I now live I enlisted into
the service each time I was under Gen Spencer 1st time and under Genl
Sullivan and I have received my written discharge. Rev. Allen Pratt and
Otis Hutchins are my neighbors and have certified for me, as to character
etc. -
He hereby reliquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity,
except the present, and he declare that his name is not on the Pension
Roll of the Agency of any State -

We, Allen Pratt a Clergyman residing in Westmoreland aforsaid &
Otis Hutchins of Westmoreland hereby certify that we are well
acquainted with Timothy Skinner who has subscribed and sworn to the
above declaration; that we believe him to be 71 years of age; that he is
reputed and beheved, in the neighborhood where he resides, to have been
a soldier of the Revolution, and that we concur in that opinion.

And the said Court do hereby declare their opinion, after the
investigation of the matter, and after putting the interrogatories
prescribed by the War Department, that the above named Court accepts
that the above named applicant was a Revolutionary Soldier, and served
as he states. And the Court further certifies, that it appears to them
that Allen Pratt above named who has signed the preceding certificate is
a clergyman, resident in this town of Westmoreland and that Otis
Huchins who has also signed his name is a resident of said town of
Westmoreland, and is a credible person, and that their statement is
entitled to credit - -(signed) Aaron Matson Judge of Probate
I Asa Parker Register of the Court of Probate for the County of Cheshire
do hereby certify, that the foregoing contains the original proceedings of
the said Court in the matter of Timothy Skinner for a pension.
In testimong whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal of office,
this eighth day of August A.D. 1832.

Timothy Skinner's pension was approved at the rate of $70 per
annum to commence 1 Mar 1831. A certificate of pension was issued 29
Feb 1833 and sent to Hon. F. Hubbard, House of Reps. Arreas to 4 Sept. for
$105. and semiannual allowance ending 21 March 1833, $35. Total
payment $140, according to Revolutionary Claim Act 7 June 1832.

Declaration
In order to obtain the benefits of the Act of Congress of the 3d
March, 1843, granting pensions for one year to certain widows who have
received pensions under the Act of July 7, 1838.
State of New Hampshire
Cheshire County
On this First day of August 1843 personally appreared before me, a
Justice of the Peace in and for the County of Cheshire and State of New
Hampshire, Ruth Skinner a resident of Westmoreland in the County of
Cheshire and State of New Hampshire, aged seventy two years, who being
first duly sworn, according to law, doth on her oath, make the following
declaration, in order to obtain the benefits of her provision made by the
act of Congress, passed on the 3d of March, 1843, granting pensions to
widows of persons who served during the Revolutionary War. That she is
the widow of Timothy Skinner who was a private in the Revolution and a
pensioner under the Act of June 7th 1832 on the New Hampshire list at
the rate of Seventy dollars per annum and served as she believes as
stated in his declaration under said act to which she refers - That she
believes herself entitled to five years pay under the Act of July 7th
1838 and has this day made her declaration under said acts. She further
declares that she is still his widow.
