Manuscript: Descendants of Peter and Sarah (Roberts) Skinner, Loudon County, Virgina, of Richard and Adeline (Van Deventer) Skinner of Cornelius Skinner by Doris Seymour Wahl, date unknown.: Or they were married in Morgan co, OH, at her father's home, nr what is now Sayre, OH. A daughter, Jessie Amanda, wrote to Mrs Fernald as follows: - "It is said that Nathan was late for his wedding, which was to have been at "high noon", but due to the bad roads he did not arrive until 4 o'clock instead of at noon. The distance from his house to hers was 13 miles, but because of the condition of the roads it took the groom 9 hours to make the trip They lived on a farm in OH and Nathan taught school there, moving to Kansas about 1868. They lived on a farm about 1 1/2 miles northwest of Spring Hill. 1885, they moved to Ocheltree where Nathan was postmaster, running a hardware store at the same time. Nathan taught school in Ohio, Kansas and Missouri for 42 years. They lived the longest in Baldwin, Kansas. Nathan was Police Judge there in his later years.
