!.....SKU 16(3)85 Adrianson, Alan Here is the first couple of paragraph's in "The Descendants of Andrew Everest" book, page 393, that refers to the Skinner name. CAPT. TIMOTHY 5 CHITTENDEN, son of Ebenezer 4 and Mercy (Johnson) Chittenden, born 15 Nov. 1732, died in Salisbury, Conn., 16 Feb 1816, aged eighty-three, testate. He married 20 Apr. 1758, REBECCA SKINNER, born in Colchester, Conn., 3 Dec. 1730, died in Salisbury, 12 Nov. 1808, aged seventy-eight, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary (Gillett) Skinner. The 1882 Chittenden Family, gives an account of this man on page 30, but fails to state the place where he was born or where he was married. These two dates do not appear in the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records. (C. S. L.). I have done but little on this man but did succeed with the identification of Rebecca Skinner.* Rebecca's father, Nathaniel Skinner Jr., bought land in Sharon, Conn.: 18 Jan. 1738-39, Samuel Eells, Joseph Whiting and Isaac Peckerman, for L1, sold "Nathaniel Skinner Jun. of Colchester," land in Sharon; wit: John Prout and Stephen Calkin; recd. 1739. (Sharon Deeds, 1: 108.)# *For some of her ancestry, see Register, 53:402. #The earliest Skinner estate in the Sharon Probate Dist. is post 1850. As you can see, the difference between the first paragraph which mentions Rebecca's parents as Nathaniel and Mary (Gillett) Skinner, and the second paragraph has her father as Nathaniel Jr. Also in the Skinner Kinsmen by Fernald, Nathaniel Jr. married Mary ______.
