1778 Nov 17: Abigail HOLMES, Phebe PERRIN, Thomas HOLMES, Ebenezer
COBURN, Jacob MASCRAFT, William SKINNER of WOODSTOCK, and
Nathaniel and Sarah MILLS heirs of James HOLMES of Woodstock, CT, (his
will dated Mar 30, 1731, in which he mentions daus Hannah, Phebe,
Abigail, Thankful, Sarah, and Rachel) to whom he bequeathed land in
Holden, MA. At date of this deed "Rachel had long since died and Thankful
is now deceased." Thankful was the mother of William SKINNER's wife.

1759 Sep 11: Ebenezer CHAFFEE to William SKINNER a certain tract of
land in Woodstock and bounds Northerly and westerly on land of said
SKINNER Easterly on land of said CHAFFEE South on a highway and
contains by estimation 10 acres (Lib 3, p 14)
1761 Mar 26: Ebenezer CHAFFEE to William SKINNER a certain tract of
land in Woodstock containing by estimation 10 acres and bounds as
follows beginning at a heap of stones on the North west corner of said
land and runs 35 rods Easterly to a stake and heap of stones Southerly to
a highway to a stake and heap of stones Westerly 16 rods to a heap of
stones Northerly straight to where it first began and bounds Westerly
and Northerly on land of said SKINNER Easterly on land of said CHAFFEE
and southerly on a highway serving and reserving a way 2 rods wide from
said CHAFFEE's land thru the Northeast corner of said granted premises
so far as to make a convenient watering place and no further.
1765 Jun 5: John HOWLET to William SKINNER a certain tract of land
lying in the south half of said Woodstock being part of the farm
belonging to Samuel HOWLETT late of Woodstock Deceased contained by
measure 15 acres bounding as follows viz. West on a highway North on
land of Samuel HOWLET East on land of sd Samuel HOWLET South partly
on land of Samuel HOWLET and partly on land of Elisha HURLBUTT with a
mantion standing thereon and was taken off the south west corner of sd
farm (vol 3, p 372).
1770 Jun 24: William SKINNER to heirs of Ebenezer SMITH, Jr. Set
bounds between land of Deac William SKINNER and Ebenezer SMITH, as
follows: "Beginning at a White oak tree marked with stones about it in
the Northwest corner of Deac SKINNERs land and being in the Head line of
the Range that divides sd SKINNER land and the sd heirs land and from
there running South in sd Range Line to a heap of stones in a low or
swampy piece of ground in the south line of said Heirs land, Again
beginning at sd White Oak Tree and from thence running East 15 deg.
South to or near a heap of stones being the Northeast bound of sd
SKINNERs Land (Lib 4, p 196).
