Pitts family history, 1643-1985, Vol 1; The descendants of John Pitts, 1753-1834. page 226: Mary Henry ³Polly² PITTS was born near Pittsboro, North Carolina in 1786 and came to Logan County with her father about 1800. She married Theophilus SKINNER in Logan County, Kentucky, January 13, 1801. In the 1850 census of Franklin County, Alabama, Mary Skinner was living with [Elizabeth Hurley family] and gave the year of her birth as 1788 instead of 1786 as was listed in the Bible belonging to her brother. Maryıs husband, Theophilus, died in 1845 and she was living with a daughter.
