HELLO NEIGHBOR
I have recently had an opportunity to speak with one of my 'neighbors.' She, Joan Skinner, was telling me about what she knew of her husband's Skinner background. It seems that they're stuck back in Valparaiso, IN with ancestors Clarence and Reba (Burnap) Skinner. A thought in her family is that they came from Canada and changed their name from MacGregor to Skinner. Does anyone out there have any info on this Skinner line? We've checked the computer file, but found nothing. (E84.1020)
I am interested in finding a THOMAS SKINNER born about 1812, New York. He married Rhoda Marie ROBERTS, daughter of Horace ROBERTS and Diademia -?-. They lived in Michigan.
They had EPHRIAM FRANKLIN born in 1833, New York.
Ephriam is my "hang-up." He came to California from St. Joseph, Missouri during the California Gold Rush. I find him in Gibsonville, CA in 1860 and have a good record of his family from there to the present. I sure would appreciate any help you can give me on this family.

Dear Mr. Legutki,
Please feel free to advise your readers that I do have Mrs. Wahl's work (most of it, I think) on "John of Hartford." It will be my pleasure to share what I have. I am not an expert on genealogy and don't have the material filed to the degree I desire as I'm not able to devote any time to it at the moment. However, as I receive requests from individuals I will gladly dig in to see if I can find anything to help.
Respectfully,
Jim Skinner
Thanks, Jim!
JOSEPH SKINNER, b. 14 June 1766
Where in France was Joseph Skinner b. 14 June 1766 according to Belmont & Jefferson Co. Ohio's history books? He first came to Rockbridge Co., VA. Did he marry there, who was his wife (said to be of Scottish ancestry), where did she die? Where are both buried?
Any information on parents of Dr. John Hull, Nancy Skinner, dau. of Joseph Skinner md. in Guernsey Co., OH/ Muskingum Co. , OH 1827 . Need proof he was son of Jacob Hull by unknown first wife prob. in Philadelphia, PA.
