Additions

From Burke's Landed Gentry:
"Skinner of the Chantry. The Skinner or Skynner family originally came from Ledbury County, Hereford, and owned the manors of Le Burtons, Pixley, Underdown, and Walton, besides Cofton Hacket in Worcestershire, and Newent in County Gloucester. Thomas Skynner of Le Burtons."
General Armory, Burke's Peerage:
Skinner (Le Burtons and Ledbury, County Hereford) descended from Stephen Skinner, Esq. of Le Burtons, who d. 1557, elder son of Stephen Skinner, Esq. of County Hereford. The heiress of the senior line, Rebecca Skinner md. Richard Clarke, Esq. of the Hill near Ross. Her grand-uncle, Edward Skinner of Ledbury, d. 1631, leaving five sons: 1. Richard of Cofton, County Worcester, whose only daughter and heir m. Thomas Jolliffe, Esq.; 2. Edward of Hill House; 3. William, L.L.D. of Hereford; 4. Thomas of London; 5. John of Ledbury, whose gr. grandson Wm. Skinner, Esq. of Underdown, d.s.p. 1764.
I found this in "The Visitation of London in the Year 1568" Taken by Robert Cooke, publ. London 1869 -- p. 86:
"Skynner Arms.
(Argent), on a fess between three lures (gules) a lion passant (of the field).
This epitaphe taken from off his toombe. Here lieth ye Corpes of Thomas Skynner late Citizen and Alderman of Londo' borne at Saffron Walden in Essex, who in the 65 yeare of his age, and on ye 30 day of Dece'br Ao Dni 1596 being then Lo. Mayor of this Citye, dep'ted this life leaving behinde him 3 sonnes and 3 daughters. Blanch da. of Wm. Watson marchant to Q Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Skynner Lord Mayor of London.
Sr. John Skynner, Sr. Thomas Skynner, Richard died unmaried, Anne, Julian, Elizabeth mar'd to Sr. William Smyth (This also said that Thomas Skynner, Lord Mayor of London had 3 wives.)
