!.....E94.0809.07c Logan, Donna (4/91) family history Rachel was the dau of Samuel Skinner and Mary Drake, dau of George Drake. Samuel Skinner was a Rev War soldier and died in Perry co, OH. In the census of 1800 Nathaniel Rush, wife and one dau are listed in Saltlick twp., Fayette co, PA. His brother David, is listed in the same locality. There is listed also a Peter Rush with children of the right ages to be the known brothers and sisters of Nathaniel & David, and in addition three other boys and one girl. These families are listed near the family of Reuben Skinner who is known from other sources to have lived near the present Mill Run, PA. This location is some 10 or 12 miles from the Jersey Baptist Church which is situated on Turkeyfoot Rd, north of Ursina in Somerset co, PA Nathaniel and David were both members of the Jersey or Turkeyfoot Baptist Church. Nathaniel must have moved to Perry co, OH about 1806 or 1807 as his son Samuel was born in PA., and his dau Agnes in OH. On Oct 20, 1817 Samuel Skinner, then of Somerst co, PA deeded to his dau., Rachel Skinner Rush & to her brother, James Skinner, NE 1/4 Sec. 20, T15, R15 Perry co, OH. There is also recorded at New Lexington, OH, June 23, 1825, United States to Nathaniel Rush, heirs E 1/2 SW 1/4 Sec. 18, T14, R13 Perry co, OH. This seems to have been the home farm. Sometime after the death of Nathaniel Rush, Rachel married Richard Skinner, the son of Reuben Skinner, Sr., who lived at Mill Run, PA. Richard is also mentioned in connection with the Nathaniel Rush lands in Perry co, OH, as early as 1837. In the census of 1850 Rachel Skinner Rush Skinner was living with her son, Samuel Rush, at Straitsville, OH. She died in Atchison co, MO, where the youngest dau. Lydia Matilda Rush Rundle lived.
