! Parker, Wayne V. Hammers Genealogy. p. 249: Cortland Skinner was first married in Fayette co, PA about 1819 and almost immediately moved to Monroe co, OH. He was there ordained as a minister of the Baptist Church. In 1823 he went to Morgan co, OH and entered land. He was married the second time in Morgan co. He moved to Guernsey co, OH and then to or near New Lexington, Perry co, OH. Later he preached for three years in Knox co, OH. In 1838 he returned to Fayette co, PA and bought the old homestead and lived there for sevral years. He then moved to Greene co, PA and then to Illinois where his second wife died. He lived in Illinois six years. He moved to Missouri where he died. History of Parette co, PA by Franklin Ellis, pub. L H Everts & Co. 1882, p 761, Indian Creek Baptist Church states Courtland Skinner pastor in 1860. 5 children by 1st marriage, 6 children by 2nd marriage.
