!Š..Skinner, Todd (09/2001) Was a civil war veteran and later settled in Nunica Michigan and became a Black Smith and farmer. Enlisted in Company F Fourteenth Infantry, December 5 1861for 3 years, age 35. Mustered August 13 1862, reinlisted March 11, 1864. at Detroit, Michigan. Mustered March 31, 1864 Transferred to U.S. Engineers July 25 1864.Discharged at Nashville, Tennessee. September 26 1865 from Company G First U.S. Veteran Volunteer Engineers. Charles served through the entire Civil War. Participating in the battle of Bull Run as well as other famous battles. He was pensioned on certificate # SC808315 from 8 January 1891, and was paid to 4 December 1898 at the Detroit Pension Agency. The accrued pension which was due him at the time of his death was paid to his widow, Clarissa J Hensley at Nunica, Michigan.
