Notes

NOTE Originally the Skinner family was said to be from Pennsylvania. It would have been Daniel's father, Stephen Skinner, who would have moved to Canada.

Daniel was a widower when he married Elizabeth Hilton, name of his first wife is unknown.

A newspaper clipping written about his daughter Rachel, indicates he was a builder of houses and built the first grist mill in Vienna (although this could be in conflict with other information received). Moved to Vienna when Rachel was about 2 years old (1841- 42).

Conversation with George Pace of London, Ontario Canada provided info on Rachel's parents. Data taken from notes left by Georges grandmother (Grace Melvira Beatrice Pace); Rachel would have been his great-grandmother.
