Harrell 1814-1891 Suzanne (Ann) Pipkin Beasley was my gt gt gr mother . There was a mistake in recording, which was probably due to the fact that my grandfather, William Henry Rogers, believed my gt gr mother,Nancy Beasley Rogers belonged to Cassie Beasley and Matthew Harrell. Cassie and Nancy were sisters, the former being 9 years older and of age and married to Matthew Harrell of Darlington Co.,S.C., when the estate of John Beasley, Jr. was settled in court in 1825.It is believed that Nancy lived with her sister,Cassie,for a while; Nancy might have referred to Cassie as her mother; for whatever reason and wherever my Nancy lived, Cassie was listed in the Bible as wife of John Beasley. This is an error and the estate record of John Beasley of 1825, plus a deed from Abraham Beasley to John and Ann Beasley, dated 1818--long after John Beasley will,1808--seems proof that my Nancy belongs both in the Pipkin and Beasley lines. Nancy's brothers and sisters were: 1. Cassie m. Matthew Harrell ( 1850 census, Darlington Co., S.C.) 2.Ira Pipkin Beasley m. 1st Martha(?)____; 2nd Talitha_____(1900 census, Clay Co., Miss., m. for 68 years( if census is correct) They had 2 ch. in h.h., one ca. 45 yrs and one ca. 54 yrs. 4 ch. b. to this couple, with 2 still living and "at home". Deeds and Admin. of Estate of John Beasley, Jr. and Suzanne ( Ann)Pipkin 1. Darlington Co., S.C.,12th Sept 1825 "To Epsey and Ira Beasley legal heirs of John Beasley---to be divided --from original land --Sparrow Swp. ---to John Beasley from Reuben Beasley and Ester Beasley -- 1/5 equally between Matthew Harrell and wife Casey;Epsey Beasley; Sophia Beasle; Nancy Beasley; and, Ira Beasley--" Comment by D.K.: This is the essence of the admin., and is not copied word by word. 2. Darlington Co., S.C., 6 Nov. 1818"Edward Woodham came before --John Huggins and ---swore that he was present when John Beasley signed the within deed and deliver same to Abraham Beasley---14 Aug 1810---" Darlington Dist--that Anna Beasley does freely--relinquish-- to Abraham Beasley---". Sophia m. ______Stott or Stuckey? 4.Epsey m Henry King (not proven to date) Darlington.Ct records may prove Epsey had 2 or 3 ch. before she died. Her husband (if this new information is correct) remarried and only a few weeks ago I received a letter from Mr John L. Andrews of Hartsville, S.C., telling me that he had recently learned that a "Mr. King " had received permission to move Espey Beasley King's marker to Mt Elom Cem. to be placed next to that of her husband,Henry King. Mr. Andrews made a trip to the cem. and copied the headstones. This report will be updated as facts are forwarded to this compiler.
